Family SUPPORT

  • Providing resources.
  • Interpreting and translating information.
  • Assisting in applying and accessing social and medical services.
  • Providing emotional support and counseling referrals.
  • Provide sibling support through sib-gathering.
  • Provide financial support for families with unexpected and dire need
  • Provide  tutoring and swimming scholarship for limited number of children with special needs within the community.
  • Provide life-coaching and counseling grant for limited number of families.

Community SUPPORT

  • Provide resources for faith and non-faith-based organizations within the community to meet the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Provide resources for communities to include children/adults with disabilities.

EDUCATE

Family EDUCATION

  • Provide monthly educational meetings.
  • Monthly educational phone conferences.
  • Providing online learning opportunities.
  • Providing information on conferences.
  • Weekly social skills, pre-employment training for young adults with developmental disabilities.

Community EDUCATION

  • By providing outreach in the Ethiopian and Eritrean communities to teach early signs of developmental disability so that community members can identify and get help for their children with autism.

  • Teach parents their children’s rights as well as their own rights.

Community EMPOWERMENT

  • By providing outreach in the East African community to involve community members, community leaders, and faith-based and non-faith-based organizations in providing resources and accommodations for children with autism.
