The enrichment classes offers the following: · Dedicated Families REACH offers a variety of enrichment classes on Wednesday for students from First Grade through High School. The classes are designed to supplement your home schooling program, not replace it and are taught by dedicated teachers and home schooling parents.
Class Descriptions
P.E. ~ The typical Physical Education class starts with calisthenics skills; or jogging, skill development (teaching session) and games which often incorporate skills being taught. The specific material a student will learn is based on their age and skill level, seeking to introduce new skills, or improving on skills already acquired. P.E.~Lynne Gonzales will be teaching the Physical Education classes. She has been homeschooling for 11 years and holds a Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University. LEGO® Robotics I ~This class is an introduction to building and programming robots using the LEGO® Mindstorms™ Robotics Invention System. Grades 3rd – 7th. Teacher: Learning Fun 101 LEGO® Robotics II~This class is introduces intermediate topics in building and programming robots using the LEGO® Mindstorms™ Robotics Invention System. Grades 3rd – 7th. Teacher: Learning Fun 101 Intro to Drawing ~Lynne Gonzales will be teaching Intro To Drawing I, using the The New Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain. She has a love of drawing and has been homeschooling for 11 years . Lynne holds a Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University. $15 supply fee, plus student required to purchase own drawing tablet. Drama-Character building using “Aesop Fables”~ Jen Martin, “laughing, learning and loving children since 1992, will have fun teaching your children wholesome character development. Using “Bad Wolf Press” drama curriculum, class time will entail drama art stories and games. A fun-tastic drama production will be presented the last day of class. Hands on History~Lynne Gonzales will be having hands on fun with your child(ren) going through history from Creation to ? It will be a continuation from semester to semester. $10 supply fee. Drama -“The Texans”~Using Bad Wolf Press, class time will be learning drama art song stories of the arrival of European explorers to the annexation of Texas in 1845. Jen Martin, laughing, learning and loving children since 1992, is the teacher for this fun class. Homework will be assigned. Some props may be solicited. A fun-tastic drama will be presented the last day of class! I.E.W. (writing) A,B OR C - 4th - 12th Incremental and easy steps for learning good writing skills. Julie Riding has a love for teaching and has taught Institute for Excellence in Writing, for several years now. Resources required: $20 I.E.W. Student Notebook. Homework required. |
